DESCRIPTION:Lithuanian Young Scientists (LJMS) Climate change mitigation and adaptation to climate change working group initiative organized a series of events on Green Deal, „Green Course Current Issues and Perspectives in Lithuania 2021.”
Second forum-discussion “Promotion of biobased businesses” will occur on February 11, 6 p.m. ZOOM platform and will be broadcast live on Facebook. We invite you to register and ask questions to the speakers.

Doc. Judita Astrovienė, together with dr. Jolita Greblikaite will present bio-businesses’ current situation in rural areas, promising directions of bio-businesses in rural areas, and opportunities to make better use of existing local resources and bio-waste. Properly selected, promising bio-businesses can make a significant contribution to increasing the competitiveness of rural areas.
Dr. Erika Besusparienė will present the optimal Lithuanian tax system, applying the genetic algorithm to the multi-criteria programming optimal tax system model, combining family farms and government interests through economic, environmental, and social model assessment, and present the Lithuanian tax system recommendations.
Doc. Jokūbas Krutkevičius will present a report on biodegradation research of synthetic polymers, mainly polyurethane.
Dr. Aušra Nausėdienė will present research related to the taxation of pollution sources in agriculture and the impact of environmental taxes on environmental pollution.
Following the presentations, you will discuss what measures we need to take to implement science-based solutions to implement the Green Course.
The Minister of Agriculture Kęstutis Navickas will give the introductory speech. The event will be moderated by Rasa Tumaševičiūtė, EC Climate Pact Ambassador and LJMS Council Member.
