SUMMARY:Women in Biotech 2026 — Beyond the Promise
DESCRIPTION:Women in Biotech 2026 — Beyond the Promise
On September 25–27, 2026, in Vilnius, at Istorijų namai (within the „Future Fair” space), „Women in Biotech 2026 — Beyond the Promise” will take place — already the sixth consecutive WinB event, marking a turning point: a community initiative that has run for six years is moving forward and becoming permanent infrastructure for women building the life sciences sector.
The journey since 2020. WinB’s story began in 2020 — the first event introduced four tracks on leadership and startups. In 2021 the theme was „Women Empower Teams,” in 2023 — „Real Stories. Real Leaders,” in 2024 — „The Network Expands.” This year, 2026, the community is taking a further step: from a temporary initiative format to permanent, long-term infrastructure.
The event is organized by the LithuaniaBIO association together with Vugene, hosted by the Lithuanian National Museum, co-funded by the Research Council of Lithuania, with Baltic Sandbox as ecosystem partner.
The programme is built around four tracks:
1. Women’s Health — this year’s track theme: why there are still so many evidence gaps in women’s health, and how to move from those gaps to solutions. Panels and workshops include:

„Beyond the Male Default: Why Women’s Health Still Has Evidence Gaps” – historically, medical research often relied on a male „default” model; what are the consequences today? The discussion covers why women were long underrepresented in clinical trials, which diseases have suffered most from the data gap, why diagnoses often take longer for women, and how the research paradigm is changing now.
„Science or Sales? When Women’s Health Becomes a Market” – why women’s health has become a massive market, and how to tell real innovation apart from marketing promises: „hormone balance” supplements, endometriosis „cure” claims, the wellness industry, influencer marketing, and what actually counts as clinical evidence.
„The Future of Women’s Health: From Data Gaps to Breakthroughs” – where we stand today, and what the future looks like once women’s biology is finally taken seriously: AI and personalized medicine, multi-omics, biomarkers, new diagnostic possibilities.
„Unmasking Women’s Health Myths” – why women’s health myths still persist, how to overcome inertia against scientific evidence, and where we should start.

2. Leadership – a fishbowl-format conversation, „Trust Me, I’m on Instagram,” on visibility and public profile; an afternoon workshop, „From Pipettes to Pitch Decks,” for scientists building a public leadership profile.
3. Innovation & Funding – a panel discussion, „Why Is Progress Still So Slow?,” plus an investor session with the Innovation Agency on market readiness.
4. Community – the WinB Club founding session.
September 25 (Professional Day), from 10:00 – registration and pop-up opening; 10:30–12:30 – panel discussions; 12:30–14:00 – lunch and networking; 14:00–15:30 – four parallel, outcome-focused workshops (registration required); 15:30 – conference closing; 16:00–19:00 – reception for invited strategic partners.
That same day, during the Community track session, the WinB Club will be officially launched — a permanent community platform that will continue after the event: a founding memorandum will be signed and a core group formed. The Club will offer a regular (quarterly) meeting rhythm, a mentorship programme, a private members’ platform, an experts database for media and boards, and a diaspora network connecting Lithuania with London, Berlin, Boston, and New York.
September 26–27 (Open Days) will bring visitors (around 7,000 expected) a pop-up exhibition featuring diagnostics and life sciences startups, plus a Science Gallery with interactive demonstrations — September 27 specifically geared toward families and school students.
Who we’re inviting and who it’s for. For the Professional Day, we invite scientists, founders, investors, institutional representatives, physicians, and health communication specialists (attendance subject to organizer approval). The Open Days are for anyone interested in science, health, biotechnology, and innovation — including families, students, and the wider public. We also invite the Lithuanian diaspora to join the emerging international network. There are other ways to take part too — as a partner or sponsor, by exhibiting at the pop-up space, presenting research, volunteering, or joining the WinB Club.
Tickets are free, but spots are limited, so grab a spot for yourself and a friend — registration: https://events.hoperfy.com/winb26/tickets
