On October 12-14, Lithuanian biotechnology business representatives participated in one of the largest life science events in Japan – BioJapan 2022!
BioJapan is the lagerst Asia’s partnering event consisting of Exhibition, Seminar, and Partnering program.
This event is consituted by three exhibitions:
- “BioJapan” (1986-) -the world’s oldest biotechnology exhibition;
- “Regenerative Medicine Japan“ (2016-) – aiming to accelerate and industrialize R&D in the field of regenerative medicine including iPS cells;
- “Health Tech Japan“ (2020-) – provides fusion of digital technology and life science.
The organizers of the event are focusing on providing new value by business partnering of industry, academia, and government which is not limited to Japan, but also from overseas.
During the visit, delegation of Lithuanian biotechnology companies met with the ambassador and representatives of Ibaraki Prefecture, and presented the potential of Lithuanian life sciences.
During the three-day exhibition and meetings, representatives of Lithuania made many contacts useful for the country for further mutual collaborations and presented the potential of Lithuanian life sciences. Representatives of the Lithuanian Embassy in Japan, Ambassador Aurelijus Zykas and Third Secretary Rokas Danilevičius visited the Lithuanian stand.
Representatives of 6 companies from the Lithuanian biotechnology sector attended in the exhibition: Stasys Taraila from the UAB Innovative Diagnostics center, Indrė Surgelytė and Laurynas Karpus from UAB Biomatter, Olga Potapova from UAB Cureline Baltic, Chwalibog Anna Edyta from UAB Integral solutions, Anis Zoruba from UAB Placenta, Audrius Sveikata from UAB Biomapas, and LBTA representative Kristina Gluščiukaitė.
Japan is Lithuania’s long-time partner of joint life sciences projects and collaborations. Lithuania supports cooperation with this country and also invites to participate in the largest life sciences forum Life Sciences Baltics in Vilnius next year.
The participation of Lithuanian companies in these events was implemented according to the according to the project “Search for new foreign markets of the Lithuanian Biotechnology Association” implemented in accordance with the 2014-2020 European Union funds investment action program measures 03.2.1-LVPA-K-801 “New opportunities LT” no. 06.
