BIO-RED is a European Union-funded project (Horizon Europe, I3 instrument) focused on strengthening innovation ecosystems in red biotechnology and pharmaceuticals through digital and sustainable (green) innovation.
The objective of the project is to identify regional strengths, future technological trends, and to build a foundation for interregional collaboration at the EU level.
The project activities include regional ecosystem analysis, focus groups and workshops, identification of future trends, and the development of strategic and policy recommendations. The project focuses on strengthening innovation ecosystems in NUTS2 regions in Portugal, Greece, Lithuania, and Bulgaria, by connecting them with more advanced clusters in France, Sweden, and Denmark.
