On May 4-5, a delegation of Lithuanian companies participated in a business mission, organized by LithuaniaBIO and LINO during which they visited and established contacts with the largest biotechnological production process development research factory in Europe Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant and visited the research and technology park of Ghent University, where participants discussed about the university-business cooperation and ongoing projects.
On May 5 the delegation visited the Research Foundation Flanders who presented funding for research programs. Participants got acquainted with the practice of evaluation of research projects formed over 90 years.
Lithuanian representatives also participated in the session and discussion about the European regional activities in life sciences, organized by the LINO at the Permanent representation of Lithuania to the European Union. Here they had a discussion where Donatas Staniulis, LithuaniaBIO executive director, presented the Lithuanian biotechnology and life sciences sector (ecosystem).
Representatives of the following Lithuanian institutions went to the business mission: Invest Lithuania, Vilnius University, Life Science Center, Center for Physical Sciences and Technology, Kaunas University of Technology, Vytautas Magnus University.
