On October 13, 3 p.m. EEST, the penultimate event of the first WOMEN IN BIOTECH series on female leadership in life science will take place. During the live broadcast, an investor, entrepreneur and venture capitalist with more than 25 years of experience in working with start-ups and company development, Karen Griffith Gryga, will share her experience and knowledge. The speaker will touch upon a delicate current theme of female involvement in managing the COVID-19 pandemic.
K.G. Gryga is the Chief Investment Officer at Biomeme, a company developing and increasing the accessibility of advanced medical diagnostics, providing high-sensitivity and specificity COVID-19 tests capable of detecting the virus in asymptomatic and early-stage cases.
The speaker is certain that a world under the COVID-19 pandemic depends on entrepreneurial growth in life science. She reminds us that driven specialists from different backgrounds are sometimes required to sacrifice their personal needs for a noble cause. Combined efforts would not only help new ideas, technology and opportunities flourish during this difficult time, but also help overcome similar challenges in the future.
The key speaker of the third event is also the Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer at the leading start-up accelerator DreamIt Ventures, having helped found DreamIt Health and founded DreamIt Athena, a program focused on female entrepreneurs. Overall, K.G. Gryga has contributed to the flourishment of more than 200 companies, coming up to a combined stock value of nearly 2 billion US dollars.
This year, the cycle of WOMEN IN BIOTECH events is taking a digital form from September 29 through October 20.
