LithuaniaBIO has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Synergya, a Basel-based platform designed to connect companies in the health, wellbeing, and sustainability sectors to build joint ventures. The agreement officially took effect on June 26, 2026, and LithuaniaBIO members can already apply for early access.
The Problem It Addresses: A Third Route to Growth
Traditionally, companies seeking rapid growth have had to choose between two paths: selling a portion of their business to investors to raise capital, or growing at a slower pace than the market demands. Synergya introduces a third alternative: finding a complementary company whose channels, markets, or infrastructure align with yours to build a joint venture together.
By splitting the costs of marketing, go-to-market strategies, and infrastructure between two parties, companies significantly lower their capital requirements. Lower expenses mean smaller funding rounds, which ultimately results in less equity given away.
The platform utilizes AI-driven matching, and every participant undergoes a strict vetting process. According to Synergya, the network currently boasts over 200 vetted members and 40 senior advisors spanning all EMEA markets.
What Members Can Actually Build
Through Synergya, companies can form various types of strategic collaborations:
- Joint Market Entry: Utilize a partner’s brand and existing channels to enter a new country without needing a separate marketing budget. For example, the Rwanda-based company Lifesten used its local channels to introduce NuraLogix technology, successfully reaching more than 75,000 screenings.
- Cross-Licensing: Share technology or regulatory dossiers to jointly develop and ship a product that neither company could deliver independently.
- Revenue-Share Distribution: Engage in joint selling initiatives without the burden of setting up a new legal entity.
- Joint Bidding: Combine resources to apply for tenders and grants that neither company would qualify for on its own.
What It Costs Members
For LithuaniaBIO members, access to the platform, partner matching, and joint venture formation are entirely free of charge, with no equity taken. Additionally, members can consult with pro bono advisors—including commercial, legal, clinical, and regulatory experts—at no cost. Synergya only applies a fee at the third layer: if capital is successfully raised or an exit occurs directly through the platform.
Who Is It For?
The platform is tailored for:
- Sectors: Health, wellbeing, and sustainability companies.
- Growth Stage: Startups ranging from pre-seed all the way to Series C.
- Geography: Companies currently operating in or planning to expand into EMEA markets.
- Business Model: Suitable for both venture-scale, fast-growing startups and impact-first enterprises (an exit is not a mandatory goal) 1.
