AI & Health Data for Personalised Medicine hackathon coming to Kaunas

On October 2–3, scientists, physicians, startup builders, and investors from seven European countries will gather in Kaunas for the BIO-RED international hackathon. Over two days, teams will build AI solutions that tackle real healthcare problems and take a step toward personalized medicine.
Who’s organizing it?
The event in Kaunas is organized by LithuaniaBIO together with the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (LSMU) and Kaunas Clinics. The Lithuanian Society of Cardiology and Baltic Sandbox are also contributing to the initiative.
Part of a Europe-wide initiative
Kaunas is one of seven BIO-RED Cross hackathons taking place across Europe this year: in Bulgaria, France, Portugal, Denmark, Sweden, Lithuania, and Greece. The event is co-funded by the European Union, and each host region covers travel and accommodation costs for participants coming from the other six countries — a real opportunity for Lithuanian teams to step onto the international stage.

- Regulatory environment & investment readiness.
- Open challenge (to be announced at the hackathon).
How will the event unfold?
On the afternoon of October 2 – an introduction to the challenges, expert discussions, and team formation. On October 3 – teams pitch their ideas to the jury. The two best-performing teams will win a direct spot in the international BIO-RED Biotech & Pharma accelerator programme — a rare opportunity for top-level mentorship and support in attracting real investment.
